Keeping an Eye on Albany

For the record, the following is the NCVOA's position on several bills being discussed in Albany during this legislative session.
In OppositionS 744 - Would create a statewide cable franchising agency that would replace the control of local governments
A 5943 - Would require public records be available within 72 hours of a public meeting
S 3560A - Changes the time window for Article 78 legislation
A 7375 - Would give the village justice sole authority to hire and fire a court clerk. It also would give the judge authority over non-judicial court personnel.
In Support
S 8400A of 2006 - Taxi and Limousine legislation that amends S8400 passed last year. This amended bill provides local governments in Nassau County with local control.
