Winter Legislative Meeting

- Late February 2008 scheduled for Albany meeting....
The aforementioned Winter Legislative meeting of NYCOM will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2008 running to Tuesday, February 26, 2008. The meeting will be held in the Crown Plaza in Albany and will commence with the registration desk opening at 3:00p.m.
The general session opens at 5:00p.m., with an Update on the State Budget and Legislation. Also scheduled will be a review of NYCOM's legislative program for 2008.
At 9:00a.m on Monday, NYCOM's program will include such topics as:
Increasing state aid to Cities and Villages
- Mandate relief
- Community and Economic Development
- Local Government Commission
- Aging Work fForce Issues
- Energy Conservation and Renewables
There will also be a full day of meetings and lobbying efforts with the Executive Chamber, Legislative Leaders and Statewide Elected Officials.
The NCVOA will assemble a committee of officials to visit with some of our state legislators to discuss issues and bills that are our great importance to village government. Please call Warren Tackenberg 437-1455 if you are interested in being a part of this effort.
