A letter from former Mayor Nicholas Capozzi

From the July/August 2008.

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

When I was elected NCVOA president this April, it was the highlight of my 13-year career as a village official. I was pleased, proud, and humbled that you had selected me to lead the NCVOA and I looked forward with great enthusiasm to working with you and building on the accomplishments of the NCVOA presidents who preceded me.

But as Ben Franklin once said, “But in the world nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes.” Unfortunately, last month I was not re-elected to another term as mayor. In accordance with NCVOA by-laws, I submitted my letter of resignation to the Executive Committee.

I would like to extend my deep appreciation to all of you for your telephone calls, notes, and emails. While this has been particularly disappointing to me, it will not signal the end of my involvement in village government. I plan to remain active and interested in my village and I also promise to remain a resource for any of you who may need me.

I thank you for allowing me to be a part of this outstanding organization for the past 13 years and look forward to continuing to see and speak with many of you. I have developed very special friendships and relationships that I hope will endure for many years.

I extend my best wishes to Nancy Zolezzi, our new president, our officers Marvin Natiss and Angel Soto, and the members of the Executive Committee. I urge you to support this dedicated group of leaders and remain active in the NCVOA so that it will remain a formidable advocate for village residents.

Sincerely

Nick Capozzi

Sincerely,

Nick Capozzi
