Feature Article - MARK YOUR CALENDARS
In the very near future, we will be mailing our Reservation and Journal forms for our 2008 Annual Dinner to be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the Crest Hollow Country Club. (Please note that the day Thursday is correct)
This year we will have an opportunity to honor Mayor James Altadonna who will then be our Immediate Past President. The mayor as our President has been a dynamic leader of our Association and we would like to fill the house at the Crest Hollow.
So, please go to your calendars and block out Thursday May 8, 2008 so that you may join with us on that night in honoring Mayor Altadonna.
Feature Article - A Change in Plans
Helena Williams, President of the LIRR had asked us to let her speak at our March meeting however a personal problem will prevent her from attending on that night.
She sends her apologies and we now have her scheduled to speak at our Annual Meeting on April 8, 2008.
Feature Article - Calling All Candidates
As reported in our last issue on the Newsletter, we will be holding an election of our (NCVOA).officers for the 2008-2009 year.
The offices of President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President and Treasurer are to be voted upon at our April 2008 meeting. Any member, whose village is in good standing in the Association, is eligible to be a candidate.
An interested candidate may send the Executive Director a resume which will then be given to Mayor Siegel, Chairperson of the Nominating Committee or follow the guidelines as outlined in Article XIII section 5 of the Association’s By-Laws. The By- Laws may be found by returning to the NCVOA home page and click on the prompts for the By-Laws.
